Results

Now Storage faced a challenge attracting customers to their new locations during expansion. We discovered that location, ease of getting a quote, and mobile-friendliness were the biggest factors influencing online storage selection. Interestingly, storage type (container-based vs internal) wasn’t a top concern. We used this insight to lead a strategic revamp.
Optimising the website for mobile users, with a sales funnel that captures leads, and a geo-targeted digital marketing campaign directed local customers to facilities.

The results were impressive: a 30% increase in website sessions, 71% year-over-year organic growth, and a 78% jump in goal conversions. This data shows how a data-driven digital marketing strategy can significantly boost a self-storage company’s online presence and customer acquisition.

Opening new self-storage centres in physical locations was not enough to attract and retain new customers.

Now Storage needed a digital performance marketing strategy to launch their facilities in key locations, improve competitive positioning and support their expansion strategy; to gain and retain new customers through digital channels.

Now Storage needed to rank in Google Search Results, as quickly as possible; but also use customer insight to improve conversion rates on-site.

Strategy

Our data and research show that location, speed of getting a quote and ease of use on mobile were the three top critical factors in whether to proceed online.
Working closely with the team at Now Storage we built a new website, a sales funnel to capture new leads and enquiries and a geo-targeted digital marketing campaign to drive local customers to their different locations.

Interestingly, consumers do not show a preference at the time of searching for the type of storage solution they require; across container-based self-storage and internal storage.

SEO Strategy

We built optimised landing pages for each location; designed to support ranking in Google Search Results, User Experience and Conversion – in line with our best practice framework.

Some elements include having 1000+ words of copy per landing page, a set of FAQs, social proof such as reviews, 8-9 static images, a strong heading structure, schema throughout, expert comments and much more. We needed to balance time, against new locations and prioritising the locations with capacity; to achieve Now Storage’s goals across the wider business and each location.

Digital PR Strategy

Our digital PR and link-building strategy focused on collaborating with influencers across lifestyle, home and building and local publications (within our repository of >1000) with strong Domain Authority scores to gain links and coverage that made an impact on our DA and ranking.

Local search relies heavily on Google Maps listings so the optimisation of Google My Business profiles has been a priority, with us working alongside Now Storage to maximise visibility and ensure we have up to 3 listings for local search; maps visibility, PPC and a position in the top 3 SEO positions.

We knew location was important, But the data opened our eyes to the importance of a user-friendly website and a seamless quote process, especially for mobile users. People on the go need quick and easy solutions.
