As you may know, Google has released their core update as of 30 June 2025. This is three months after the previous core update (March), and the search engine conglomerate has mentioned that the roll-out period may take up to three weeks.
Google mentioned on 30 June, “Today we released the June 2025 core update. We’ll update our ranking release history page when the rollout is complete,” – we are yet to see when that will be!
Core updates are changes to Google’s ranking system that are designed to improve its ability to extract high-quality content and place it on the SERP. Essentially, they want to ensure that readers have access to information that is valuable and useful.
Core updates tend to take place a few times throughout the year, and as you may remember, we had one not too long ago in March. The reason Google announces core updates is because they can have a significant impact on Google’s search algorithms and systems. This explains why everyone panics as soon as another core update is dropped.
Google has alluded to the fact that this June’s core update will impact everything that is seen in search results, and that websites need to continue writing content that is written by and for humans, that is helpful for readers. They have also said that we should avoid making quick fixes right away and that content should only be deleted from websites as an absolute last resort.
So, what does this mean? We recommend going through the content on your website and making sure it’s easy for your users to digest. This could mean restructuring the content, too. But do not go on a massive tangent and delete all of your content if you start to see dips in rankings or in traffic.

When we talk about documenting changes, we mean that you should:
If you need a bit of extra guidance on how to create content for your readers that is helpful and useful, Google has designed a set of questions that you can ask yourself. This is useful because you’ll be able to look at your content objectively, which will support you in creating long-lasting content that readers trust using Google’s E-E-A-T principles.
Google’s core update is yet to be rolled out completely, and whilst we are waiting for the impact it may or may not have on our websites, the best thing to do is to continue the way we usually do, whilst monitoring rankings and insights.
Stay tuned for more updates on the powers that be!
